The Jellyfish Class really enjoyed their badminton tournament this morning, where they took part in a range of activities with children from other schools in the local area. They were a pleasure to take out and demonstrated a wonderful, supportive attitude to their team mates. Well done Jellyfish!
This morning when the Jellyfish arrived to school they discovered that their classroom had been transformed into a chocolate/sweet lover’s dream, inspired by Willy Wonka’s Chocolate Factory in Roald Dahl’s famous book.
In response to a letter from Mr Willy Wonka himself, the Jellyfish class taste tested a range of chocolate and sweets to help Mr Wonka decide which sweet treat should be put into production first in his factory. They then went on to design their own chocolate bars, explaining why they chose the ingredients/flavours that they did.
This term Jellyfish have been learning about volcanoes and earthquakes in Geography. The children have found this topic fascinating and have been extremely engaged both inside and outside the classroom, with many children creating exploding volcano models, drawing pictures of volcanoes and carrying out lots of research to find out more about them.
Whilst looking at earthquakes the class discussed what they thought you should do if an earthquake were to occur. The children were then asked to design posters to instruct people how to be safe in an earthquake.
Here are their posters, didn’t they do a great job!
