Victorian Day at Tenterden Railway

Victorian Day at Tenterden Railway

What a splendid day we’ve all had today! It was great to see all the children dressed up Victorian style. A huge effort was made by all so thank you!

After a pleasant coach journey to Tenterden, we started off by meeting our host Mr Harcourt and then had a tour around the museum followed by a Punch & Judy show, which was rather amusing!

For the train to and from Bodiam, we were absolutely treated to our own first class carriage! It was great fun and we learnt a lot thanks to Mr Harcourt. We were fortunate enough to meet the driver of the train and he stoker (fireman), who explained to us how a steam engine works. On the way back, we even had our lunch on the train which was really exciting!

When we arrived back in Tenterden, we received lots of waves from members of the public and one lady spoke to Mr Dempster and explained how excellently behaved the Jellyfish Class were and what a joy it was to see the children have so much fun!

Finally, children got to spend their money in the gift shop – how very intriguing that was!

It was an amazing day and one I know will live long in the memory. Thank you Jellyfish Class for being so wonderful!
